We are never too old to chase our dreams! “Find a way” is the mantra that Diana Nyad used when talking about the power of setting a goal and following through in her TEDtalk video, Never, ever give up.
You know the power of having goals, right? They are like the mile markers or milestones along our journey toward our dream. We need goals, a plan, and commitment to bring the dream into reality. The plan is the detailed map to get us to the destination and our goals are the milestones or stops along the way.
Our goals direct our journey. They are important…very important. While reaching the destination is important too, it is the experiences along the journey that shape us, mold us, change us, and cause us to become the person who emerges at each mile marker.
Can you see and feel the difference in you as you reach each mile marker along the way? It is there. We grow and know more, therefore we become more. Do you agree?

As Diana mentions in this video, none of us know how much life we have left. If we want to live our dream life and be the best version of ourself that we can be, we must have unwavering commitment to our goals.
If you want something badly enough, you have to just say, “I am doing this. That’s it. Period!” Break the dream into smaller steps or milestones. Put your goals in writing. There is power in that action. The people who achieve the most, have goals in writing.
You don’t have to take my word for it. Michael Hyatt is one of the leading personal development and productivity experts and he says, “The secret to accomplishing what matters most to you is committing your goals to writing.”
What do you have to gain by taking action and writing your goals? Everything. What do you have to lose by not doing it? Possibly everything. Is that something you are willing to gamble with?
Diana has a powerful story. You do too! Have you ever thought of sharing your story on a blog? A blog is a tool to get your message in front of people. You like to hear stories, right? Do you feel inspired by them? Other people can be just as inspired by your story. Want to give it a try? Click here to join the 21-day challenge. Come on…you know you want to.
